Describe what you did, with context

Use an action, its context and a result you can support. Add numbers only when you can verify them.

Too general

Responsible for tasks in sales.

More specific — fictional example

Followed up opportunities in the CRM and coordinated proposals with the sales team.

What to highlight

Start with experience that is most relevant to the vacancy. In sales, give context to prospecting, follow-up and customer relationships. Give context on territory, product and sales cycle. If you include quota attainment, identify the period. Do not disclose client lists or confidential prices.

An example to guide your writing

Fictional example: “Followed up opportunities in the CRM and coordinated proposals with the sales team.” Use it as a structural reference, not as a statement about your career. Replace each action with something you actually did. If you have a verifiable measure, add scope and time period; otherwise explain the qualitative outcome without inventing numbers.

A structure that is easy to read

Start with your name, professional contact details and a brief summary. List experience and education from most recent to oldest. For each entry, include role or qualification, organisation, dates and a concrete description. Select skills relevant to the position and remove repetition. Early in your career, projects and education can come before employment.

Before sending your PDF

Check links, email, dates and spelling. Open the PDF and verify that text can be selected and headings are not stranded. Use A4 or Letter as requested by the application. A clear template helps readers, but no design guarantees passing an ATS or getting an interview. Keep a version for each vacancy without accidentally changing earlier applications.

Coverage, updates and skills

The server checks sources weekly. Observation dates depend on each source. ILOSTAT covers broad groups internationally; BLS adds selected US occupations and states. A decline in a series is not evidence that a profession is disappearing.

Country-level skill demand and skill-specific pay are not available in these feeds. We do not infer them from occupational wages.
